REI TO OPEN FIRST EVER SMALL FORMAT NEIGHBORHOOD STORE IN CAMBRIDGE, MA

REI will be introducing its first ever small format neighborhood store in Cambridge, MA this Fall. This is a new and exciting concept for them, the first of its kind in the entire country! 

The store will be approximately 8,000 square feet and will offer a product selection of carefully curated items including everyday outside gear, apparel, and services.

According to Tim McNamara of SullivanHayes, the broker who represented REI in this transaction, “The original requirement for this project involved a nationwide search for real estate that would be “bicycle” oriented, near mass transit, near significant commercial development, and if lucky, near a bike trail. This East Cambridge opportunity fit all of those requirements, and then some! With a strong presence already in Boston, REI is looking to enhance its brand and be an amenity to the growing outdoor oriented population that lives and works around Cambridge. We hope that its success spurs other smaller REI concept stores around the country.”
