Jed Hayes
Jed Hayes is the founding principal of SullivanHayes and oversees the entire SullivanHayes platform of Tenant Representation, Property Leasing, and Development. Jed founded SullivanHayes in Denver, Colorado with partner Jim Sullivan in 1978. Over the following 15 years, Jim and Jed grew SullivanHayes into the largest retail brokerage, development and management company in Colorado. In 1991, Jed opened SullivanHayes Northeast where he was born and raised to build upon his father’s legacy in the shopping center business.
For the past 40 years, Jed has represented some of the country’s most prominent retailers throughout the United States, having been a national master broker for PetSmart, Dicks Sporting Goods, Ulta, and Wild Oats (Whole Foods) as well as various other retailers. Jed has also represented the likes of Best Buy, Ross Stores, The Home Depot, Michaels Arts & Crafts, TJ Maxx, Bob’s Stores, Gander Outdoors, Old Country Buffet, Marshalls and Shaw’s Supermarkets. In aggregate, Jed has negotiated over 1,000 leases with a value in excess of $2 billion.
Over the last 40 years, Jed has built $500,000,000 in retail real estate throughout New England, New York, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri and Wyoming totaling in excess of 3,500,000 square feet, as well as 1,000 multifamily units. Under Jed’s leadership, SullivanHayes has also managed over 3,000,000 square feet of third party retail properties through all phases of the real estate cycle including receiverships, loan workouts and restructurings for various institutional clients.
Jed holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commercial Real Estate Finance and Construction from the University of Denver. He is an active member and former Colorado State Director of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Jed was also an original founding member of ChainLinks Retail Advisors in 1979.
